Texas radio host and Truther Alex Jones is nuts. There’s just no other reasonable reaction to this recent clip of his radio show, in which he blames gayness on some bizarre government conspiracy. Really . Roll tape. Double reminder: Until being a Truther became a problem for her , GOP fringey candidate for gov Debra Medina was a welcome and frequent fellow traveler and guest on Alex Jones’ show . For a whole lot of reasons, it’s good that the Texas primary was months ago, and that Medina lost. Note to the programming folks at KLBJ radio in Austin : Can’t you do better than Alex Jones? Really?

I want to honor the US Constitution today by a reminder of the first time I read the Constitution. I heard that when Daniel Webster was a boy he read the original Constitution on a printed napkin. I immediately asked my mother (I was 7 or 8 or so) where the Constitution is and she [...]

I am going to give you some straight dope. From the gut. It’s about November and what’s at stake. You may live in an area where you have to vote Democrat to have any say. There are still lots of areas like that all over Texas and all over the otherwise conservative South and up into Virginia. And because of that, you may as a natural conservative have a view of the Democrats locally or in your district that’s somewhat benign. Sure, Obama and Pelosi are awful, but my local guy, he ain’t so bad. That’s what you may tell yourself. But. If your legislative goals and priorities include a business-friendly economic environment, clean elections, educational choice, excellence in public education, fixing the financial problems at big state agencies…

It is the perfect Sunday afternoon to spend a few minutes reviewing the very first issue of Bearing Drift’s Magazine.
The premier issue appropriately features Virginia’s Governor, Bob McDonnell.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. In a post earlier today,we displayed a picture of President Obama bowing to the Emperor of Japan. It is, indeed, a sad day when the symbolic head of the United States bows to foreign leaders. The message is clear: America bows to you.
The symbolic shame from the event aside, I feel a bit of sorrow and anger for my Black friends. I honestly cannot name even one that would bow to anyone. The sad chapter in American history that saw their ancestors enslaved are lessons that are not easily forgotten, nor should they ever be forgotten.
