It looks like Virginia Right! has a split decision on the Attorney General Candidate this year. My fellow blogger Sandy Sanders has already endorsed Rob Bell and by agreement between us if we do not agree on an endorsement, we may endorse personally, but not in the name of Virginia Right! Both Rob Bell and [...]

UPDATE: A few minutes after publishing this article, I received a call from Delegate Linghamfelter’s office. His vote was recorded as Yea in error. Lingamfelter had intended to vote against this bill and the error is in the process of being corrected on the official record. As a result of that error, we have “unscratched” [...]

This post was written by Bob Shannon The performances of the Republican U.S. Senate Candidates was widely reported without much news being made, the candidates stuck very close to their platforms. E. W Jackson was to have scored some points with his impassioned and fiery delivery. Outside that one note it was not far off [...]

The following is a press release from the Republican Party of Virginia. No mention of David McCormick so it seems that he was unable to come up with the 10,000 signatures to be placed on the Republican Primary ballot. Congratulations to the 4 candidates that will be on the ballot! From RPV: At 5:03 p.m. [...]

I don’t plan to participate in the Virginia Republican Presidential Primary in March, 2012. Not because of the requirement that you take an oath to support the eventual Republican nominee, whoever that may eventually be. That’s a given. Any of the Republican candidates will be a far better president than Obama. If you are interested [...]

Great NEWS! Ron Paul is the top position on the Virginia ballot (although at this moment only Mitt Romney is below Paul on the ballot) and this is a good sign. During a brief meeting at the state Capitol, the board also held a drawing that determined Texas Rep. Ron Paul will appear first on [...]

A Washington Post / ABC News poll released today has some bad news for President Obama. His approval has slipped to 47%. A full 50% disapprove of the job Obama is doing. I know what you are thinking. The liberal WaPo and equally liberal ABC News conducting a poll? Can this be a fair poll? [...]

If there was any question on who the Democrat’s perceive as the biggest threat to defeat Barack Obama in the 2012 election, look no further. Mitt Romney has risen to the top in several of the early polls, so the Democrats have evidently circulated the “Get Mitt” memo (Unlike Republicans supporting anyone but Maii with [...]

After ducking voters for six years, the reclusive Senator Jim Webb has decided that once is enough. He will not seek reelection in 2012. This is not really shocking news to most who follow politics. While Webb has voted in favor of Virginians on Defense measures that would adversely effect the Commonwealth’s military bases, on [...]

Rasmussen Reports has an interesting take on their Party Affiliation survey. While their conclusion that membership in both parties is down, the decline for the Democrats has been rapid since 2008, indicating that many who became Democrats during the Bush presidency have now become unaffiliated again, with those identifying as Democrats shrinking to the lowest numbers since the poll began in January, 2004.

In a blow to the Democrats running for state wide office, the Fraternal Order of Police endorsed Republicans Bob McDonnell, Bill Bolling and Ken Cuccinelli. While McDonnell did a great job as AG and all three Republican candidates are strong supporters of law enforcement, Senator Ken Cuccinelli has twice distinguished his insight as spot on. [...]

Ok, I know that Delegate Phil Hamilton has said he did something that, in retrospect, he should not have done. Everyone seems to have their knickers in a bind. If only he had done something minor, like driving off of a bridge and leaving a woman to drown while he wondered off in a drunken stupor. Or ran a male prostitution ring out of his home. Or failed to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes.
