UPDATE: The Virginia Black Conservative Forum has asked that McAuliffe repudiate this bogus attack: Members of the Virginia Black Conservative Forum are calling on Terry McAuliffe to repudiate the release of a video in which, according to the Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA), gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli “[equates] the nation’s bloody reckoning over slavery with [...]

Bill Bolling, Virginia’s two term Lt. Governor has done some rethinking about his run for Governor of Virginia in 2013. After making a deal to allow Bob McDonnell to take the top spot on the ticket in 2009, with the intent of running for the state’s highest office in 2013, the Republicans opted for a [...]

Word has been spreading that the Obama campaign was pulling out of North Carolina and speculation is that Virginia will not be far behind. It would seem that CNN has made it official. Obama and CNN concede North Carolina to Romney. CNN is moving its classification of the swing state from true “toss up” to “lean Romney.”Four years [...]

Wow. USA Today (McPaper) not spinning left. That is news in itself. From McPaper: 3:41PM EDT October 15. 2012 - WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney leads President Obama by five percentage points among likely voters in the nation’s top battlegrounds, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds, and he has growing enthusiasm among women to thank. Check out this interview up at the Boston Globe. Who knew Mitt Romney was a Snooki fan? Romney held hands with his wife, Ann, during a lighthearted interview that delved into topics rarely found on the Sunday talkshow circuit and gave the Republican nominee a chance to show his knowledge of pop culture. Like whether [...]

The latest Gallup poll shows Mitt Romney leading Barack Obama by 5 points 48% to 43%. Reports I have been monitoring suggest that RP delegates to district and state conventions have done very well in today’s caucuses in Missouri. In Jackson County, near Kansas City, the combined Paul/Romney Beat Obama slate won the day 531 to 237, ensuring Paul will get 80% of the delegates from this county to both the [...]

Is it in the water? A time warp? This is the biggest year for Virginia politics since 1841. Virginia native (born in Winchester!) and resident Rick Santorum was the first resident of the Old Dominion to win a major party caucus – Iowa. Then Virginia resident Newt Gingrich wins the SC primary, another first for [...]

Rick Santorum had his biggest night last night picking up wins in Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri. While doing little to actually pick up delegates, the victory shows that Conservatives – particularly in the Heartland – are not fans of Mitt Romney’s brand of liberal politics. Squishy Republicans are not the answer for many Conservatives. Another [...]

I don’t plan to participate in the Virginia Republican Presidential Primary in March, 2012. Not because of the requirement that you take an oath to support the eventual Republican nominee, whoever that may eventually be. That’s a given. Any of the Republican candidates will be a far better president than Obama. If you are interested [...]

The Republican Party of Virginia has instituted the so-called “loyalty oath” for the March 6 primary. Here‘s the news story about it: Anyone who wants to vote must sign a form at the polling place pledging to support the eventual Republican nominee for president. Anyone who refuses to sign the pledge will be barred from [...]

Newt Gingrich was eliminated from the possibility of having his name on the Virginia Republican Presidential Primary ballot for 2012. Virginia requires at least 10,000 signatures which must include 400 from each Congressional District. Mitt Romney and Ron Paul remain as the only candidates whose name will appear on the ballot in the Republican Presidential [...]

From FoxNews: Alaska Senate candidate Joe Miller’s campaign claims it has audio proof of local reporters scheming about ways to connect the Republican nominee to “child molesters.” The Miller campaign blasted out an e-mail overnight containing a transcript and audio recording of what it claimed were reporters at CBS affiliate KTVA discussing story ideas. As reported on this blog and other sources, Virginia Republican Nominee for Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli has been calling for a special session to address the recent US Supreme Court ruling in the Melendez-Diaz vs. Massachusetts case. Virginia Right! has been behind Cuccinelli on this and we have expressed regret that Governor Kaine and especially Democratic Nominee for Attorney General Steve Shannon decided to try to use this issue for political gain. The Creigh Deeds ads paid for by various special interest groups are hitting the internet casting blame on Bob McDonnell, the Republican nominee for Virginia Governor. You may have seen them. A poor unemployed person blames McDonnell for his benefits running out. If only McDonnell had taken the money, he could live comfortably off of the largess of President Obama, who borrowed the money he wants to give away at our expense.
He is being very generous with our money, isn’t he?

One of the fantastic conservative Republican ladies running for the Virginia House of Delegates this November is Melody Scalley. She is the nominee for the Republican Party for the 100th District seat, which is mostly the Eastern Shore area. I recently came across this interesting article in the DelMarVaNow.com online publication. If you believe in smaller government, lower taxes and the vision of the founding fathers, Scalley is right there in the mix.
