LOOKS LIKE the APPELLATE DEFENDER bill (Senate Bill 738) will go to SENATE COURTS COMMITTEE next week!

I have written several times about the restoration of the Appellate Defender’s office in Virginia.  The Indigent Defense Commission had to abolish the office due to budget cuts. Now you can do something about it!  Email your senator if you are in his or her district (especially the Republicans!) or can if a Virginia voter, [...]

GREAT NEWS out of ARIZONA! RIO DECLARATION (and ICLEI, too!) only a HOUSE vote away from BEING BANNED in ARIZONA!

While bills banning ICLEI have been introduced in several states, the best effort was quietly done in Arizona.  The Senate and a House committee have voted to prevent the state and all its political subdivisions from implementing the Rio Declaration (That’s where Agenda 21 comes from!) and it bans ICLEI in Arizona!  It passed the [...]

Are Va TEA Party Patriots Becoming the Va TEA Party Progressives?

The TEA Party movement is the most important political phenomenon of my lifetime. Arguable since the country was founded. The movement itself is far more important than any individual, the sum of it’s parts being exponentially greater than the individual pieces. The left has endeavored to rip the movement apart with lies, spin and half-truths. [...]

Cuccinelli’s office confirms Virginia will sue over health care

From the Washington Post:

A spokesman for Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II (R) said this afternoon that Virginia will file suit against the federal government if the Democratic health care reform bill is approved by the U.S. Congress.

Cuccinelli has long said he was examining the legal issues and suggested he would likely file suit. Brian Gottstein, a spokesman for the office, said this afternoon that a lawsuit is now a definite. Gottstein would provide no details of the legal rationale for such a suit, indicating the process is “still being worked out.”

Congresswoman Slaughter’s view from the House: Senate bill isn’t health reform

My, my how quickly things change for Democrats. In December, Louise Slaughter, the same one that is helping Nancy Pelosi shred the Constitution faster than Fawn Hall shredded Ollie North’s documents, penned an op-ed column for CNN.

Slaughter wrote:

Even though the House version is far from perfect, it at least represents a step toward our goal of giving 36 million Americans decent health coverage.

Democrats Failed To Pass Health Reform by Begging, Borrowing, Stealing and Bribery. Now Cheating Ruled Out

Democrats efforts to beg the American people to go along with their legislation failed.

Democrats efforts to borrow more money to pass the legislation have failed.

Democrats efforts to steal money from Medicare to pay for the expensive reform legislation failed.

Democrats efforts to bribe lawmakers into votes have failed.

And now, it looks like the Democrats efforts to cheat the bill through will also come up short.
