Senate Democrats reintroduced a modified version of the DISCLOSE Act this week, and Republicans are sounding the free-speech alarm. “This is the single biggest issue nobody is talking about,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell told The Daily Caller Thursday. The law would force corporations, labor groups and super PACs to report the names of donors for every [...]

On Friday, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, Republican Whip Jon Kyl, Judiciary Committee Ranking Republican Chuck Grassley, and Committee member Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) sent what National Review Online’s Ed Whelan described as “a strong letter” to Attorney General Eric Holder urging him to comply with Congressional oversight requests regarding former Solicitor General (now Supreme [...]

As the Senate begins debate on the House-passed Cut, Cap, and Balance bill today, Senate Republicans are calling on Democrats to follow through on their past statements in support of cutting spending, capping spending, and balancing the budget by supporting the Cut, Cap, and Balance bill. Speaking on the floor this morning, Senate Republican [...]

Yesterday, Senate Republicans stood united to filibuster the Democrats’ “Disclose Act,” a partisan assault on the First Amendment, designed to rig the fall elections in Democrats’ favor. The bill was written by the man in charge of electing Democrats in the House, Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), and the man who just recently had the [...]

I wrote a few days ago about former Redskin player Clint Didier as a constitutionalist for US Senate from Washington State. Didier is awesome on the issues and is endorsed by Ron Paul (and also Sarah Palin, too) but his polling numbers were a bit weak. It looked like the favorite Dino Rossi would probably [...]
