Next Tuesday, August 23, 2011 there will be an opportunity for Republicans to decide which among them will best be able to win a Senate seat and help rid the Commonwealth of the ineffective and, at times, disgraceful leadership (or lack thereof) by the Democratic majority. There are a number of good people running for [...]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell says he’ll push to repeal the health care overhaul passed by congressional Democrats, and if that fails he’ll try to undo the law “piece by piece.” McConnell will lead a larger Republican minority when the next Congress convenes. Republicans gained at least six Senate seats in Tuesday’s [...]

How quickly things change. Just over a week ago, we wrote: As of today, August 22, 2010 Republicans could pick up a maximum of 12 seats in the US Senate giving them a total of 53 seats. And not one seat more. Well, we also said: With two and a half months remaining before election [...]

It has been rumored for some time now that the NRA (National Rifle Association) will endorse Harry Reid in the Nevada Senate race against the conservative Sharron Angle. This is confusing to most because while Sharron Angle is a 100% Second Amendment supporter, Harry Reid pretends to be pro-gun but uses his position in the Senate to undermine the right to keep and bear arms. While the NRA has gone out of their way to state that they have yet to endorse anyone in this race. For the record, the NRA-PVF has not yet made an endorsement in the Nevada U.S. Senate race . In fact, there have been no announced endorsements for any U.S. Senate seat for the November general elections—period. It is increasingly apparent that the Reid endorsement is coming. The August issue of the NRA magazines included a preemptive explanation for the unpopular recommendation titled Making Endorsements Count which regurgitates the NRA-PVF Endorsement Policy . They go on about being non-partisan and a single issue organization that …

A bombshell was dropped in the courtroom trial of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. According to CBS Chicago: Jurors in ex-Gov. Former Richmond Mayor turned Virginia Governor and now Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine still does not understand the conservative trend happening in America.
After a resounding thumping in the Gubernatorial elections in Virginia last year, most people in his position would have seen the writing on the wall. Not Tim Kaine. Governor Bob McDonnell ran one of the most Conservative campaigns in a long time. The Democratic Party tried to use his Conservatism to paint McDonnell as a far right wing radical. The Democrats attempted to portray Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli as an even more radical right winger. Both won by large margins.

Things are looking pretty good for the GOP and pretty bleak for Democrats.
House Republicans could win 100 or more seats in this fall’s elections, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Friday.
Boehner said he believes there is no seat that the GOP cannot win during this election cycle, judging by Sen. Scott Brown’s (R) improbable win in January’s special election in Massachusetts.
