This is enough to make you ill. My friend Shaun Kenney has a new post up over at Bearing Drift with the sordid details. Terry McAuliffe and the Virginia Democratic Party should be ashamed to condone Pedophiles and some are even advocating making these child molesters a “protected” class and are calling pedophilia a “sexual [...]

I found this posting from a site I do not read often but my deep background tells me is a very reliable site: The Volokh Conspiracy. Here’s a highlight: But denying a private business permits because of such speech by its owner is a blatant First Amendment violation. Even when it comes to government contracting [...]

Looks like the Chick-Fil-A controversy has drawn out the best or worst in the pro-Agenda 21 pols around the nation! In Boston, Mayor Thomas Menino, a strong supporter of ICLEI, threatens to ban the chicken place from Beantown! Boston Mayor Thomas Menino sent Cathy a letter informing him “There is no place for discrimination on [...]

I suppose it should be flattering to find that the New York Times reads Virginia Right! and actually linked to us on their Editorial Page in an Opinion piece by Andrew Rosenthal. But it never ceases to amaze me at how they twist everything Conservatives say into some type of hate mongering. (And to be [...]

(H/T Duane Lester at AllAmericanBlogger) Sometimes people say something so stupid that it makes your head hurt. That is exactly what happened in the Canadian Parliament when two “psychiatrists” , Dr. Vernon Quinsey and Dr. Hubert Van Gijseghem were called upon to testify before the body concerning a bill designed to toughen the penalties and [...]

The Progressive Socialists find American society inherently unfair. All of their waking thoughts are about how they can make things more fair, equitable and just, in their own minds.
And to progressives, those that have less are always the victim, the wealthy are always the oppressor who needs to be “taught a lesson”. And remember, progressives must have a victim to do anything. Race, gender and financial class are their favorites, but sexual orientation is growing in favor. Christians can never be victims, as they must be loathed by decree.

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli spoke at George Mason University’s Law School last night. Protesting outside were about 50 gay rights supporters, who did not attend the speech. Since this speech was open only to GMU students with school ID’s, it is most likely that the protesters were school outsiders brought in for the event.

RICHMOND – Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling today issued the following statement regarding employment discrimination policies in the Commonwealth:
“In recent days, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli issued a letter to Virginia’s colleges and universities informing them that their internal employment discrimination policies could not prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation because such prohibitions were not authorized under state law. While the Attorney General’s legal advice is consistent with that of other Attorneys General before him, it has created some understandable confusion and concern.

One would think that if discrimination on a basis of sexual orientation were such a problem that the state need include protections in our laws that the gays protesting at Monroe Park at the VCU Campus would fear reprisal and dismissal from school.
Ironically, their protest actually proves that protection is unnecessary and that the General Assembly killing such measures was the appropriate response.

During the 2010 General Assembly session, a number of bills were killed by one body or the other. The bills advocating the state grant special status to gays, adding “sexual orientation” to Virginia’s anti-discrimination laws were one. Other bills that were killed called for additional restrictions on abortion, and easing handgun restrictions.

Late last week it was revealed that Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli sent a letter to the state’s taxpayer funded colleges and universities informing them that, without General Assembly approval, they do not have the authority to issue non-discrimination policies that include sexual orientation. Apparently, the state’s public colleges and universities had issued such policies without the approval to do so.

Ah, Virginia’s Loony Left Wing politics are at it again. The best way to describe the lefty gaggle to someone outside of Virginia is this:
Take one part Rocky Horror Picture Show, add one part Alice in Wonderland and dump it into an echo chamber. Shake, do not stir.
And there you have what passes for News the left can use.
In the case in point, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli sent a letter to Virginia Colleges and Universities informing them that if they have school policies prohibiting discrimination based on Sexual Orientation, Virginia has no such law on the books (despite 25 attempts since 1997). Several inquires prompted the Attorney General’s response.

When President Clinton put in place the don’t ask don’t tell policy years ago, many saw this as a compromise. Openly serving as a “gay” was prohibited, but gone were the policies allowing interrogation of someone suspected of being a homosexual.
But was this a compromise, or simply the solution that was needed, which should become permanent?

Ok. It looks like Senator Frederick Quayle has officially voted himself onto the RINO list (Republicans in Name Only). I hope the good people in the 13th District are going to plan Quayle’s retirement party next year. It is not too early to start thinking primary challenge if this endanger species does not go quietly into the good night. Virginia’s own version of Pennsylvania Turncoat Arlen Spector. What an embarrassment.
