Robert Cox at Talk of the Sound found this 1992 video in the Wayback machine and it shows how many powerful forces in 1992 had bought into the Agenda 21 scheme. Rep. Eliot L. Engel is the congressman from Westchester (NY) and he states briefly his support for Agenda 21 and yields his time to [...]

Leaving dark clouds, debris and a massive debt in her wake, the country watched as Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi handed the gavel over to the next Speaker, John Boehner (R-OH). Then her striped stocking clad legs curled up as the House descended upon her in her moment of utter and complete failure. If you listen [...]

Cong. Heath Shuler, Sandy’s favorite Democratic officeholder, was recently defeated for minority leader by former Speaker and architect of the shellacking, Cong. Nancy Pelosi. Shuler did, however garner 43 votes to Pelosi’s 150. This is a major development; The Hill reported that there were major fissures within the Democratic Party: Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her [...]

Just after Democrats passed their unpopular health care bill, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) declared on Meet the Press, “As people learn about the bill, it’s going to be more and more popular. By November, those who voted for health care will find it an asset, those who voted against it will find it a liability.” [...]

Recently, Democrats have been expressing their frustration at a lack of support for their policies. Some key Democrat leaders have apparently decided the reason is because they haven’t been bragging enough about the bills they’ve passed. Last week, President Obama lamented, “[I]t was very difficult for us to spend a lot of time doing victory [...]

Ray Griggs’s documentary “I Want Your Money” is worth seeing. Here is the website. It does not pretend to be entertainment but the history of big government in the United States since Roosevelt and how lower taxes and less government spending is best for America is a necessary lesson for all to hear. Take your pick: Damned if you do, damned if you don’t or stuck between a rock and a hard place. Either saying is appropriate for the dilemma Democrats now find themselves in as far as extending the Bush Tax Cuts. On the one hand, raising taxes in the current economy is really not an option. [...]

As the debate over whether to allow a massive tax increase in January continues on Capitol Hill, a few telling news stories came out yesterday afternoon, showing a growing bipartisan chorus against tax hikes on any Americans. The AP reported, “More Democrats joined Republicans on Wednesday in calling for the preservation of tax breaks for [...]

That’s what the Dallas Morning News’ headline should say. Instead, for some reason they went with the more bland (though less accurate) headline: Pelosi pulled strings to let dying Dallas lawyer Baron try experimental cancer drug. Here’s the tale . Dallas’ top Democratic donors will cut big checks to share dinner later this month with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi . Most will be motivated by a desire to protect the party’s congressional majority. Lisa Blue will have an extra reason: to say thanks for Pelosi’s efforts when her husband, Fred Baron , was dying of bone marrow cancer. His only option was an experimental drug whose manufacturer refused to give permission to use it for Baron’s condition. “He was a big fan of hers, and now I am as well,” Blue said. … Somehow – Blue still isn’t sure how – Pelosi cajoled the FDA to find a legal justification that let Mayo administer the drug, even without Biogen’s consent. “Nancy figured out a way,” she said. Check out this kicker for fun. Blue has no illusion that a typical family could pull such strings. “There are so …

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called members of the House of Representatives back to Washington from their districts today to pass what the Democrat leadership considers a priority—a $26 billion bailout for teachers unions and spendthrift state governments. This is, of course, on top of recent spending on bailouts, the massive, unpopular health care bill, unemployment [...]

(Washington, D.C.) Today, U.S. Representative Michele Bachmann sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi petitioning her support for the House Tea Party Caucus currently awaiting approval by the Committee on House Administration. It is becoming quite amusing watching Virginia’s Nancy Boys Tom Perriello, Gerry Connolly, James Moran and Glenn Nye try to run from the far left fringe of the likes of Speaker Nancy Pelosi. It takes a special kind of person to vote with a Speaker that believes unemployment is the fastest way to create jobs. [...]

President Obama and Democrats in Congress are asking the American people trust them that their financial regulation bill ends bailouts, but over the last year Democrats have given Americans numerous reasons to be skeptical.
When Congress passed President Obama’s $862 billion stimulus bill, the administration was assuring members that the bill would keep unemployment around 8% and create 3 to 4 million jobs. Yet late last year the unemployment rate was 10.2% and has since hovered at 9.7%. And over 3 million jobs were lost during the course of 2009.

The following concerns a letter John Boehner (R-OH) sent to Nancy Pelosi calling for a Roll Call vote so each and every member will be required to give a yea or nay vote by voice.
Don’t think the Yea votes will not feature prominently in the November elections.
Cowards the the Democrats are, Pelosi will likely refuse.
Call the roll! Call the roll!

From the Washington Post:
A spokesman for Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II (R) said this afternoon that Virginia will file suit against the federal government if the Democratic health care reform bill is approved by the U.S. Congress.
Cuccinelli has long said he was examining the legal issues and suggested he would likely file suit. Brian Gottstein, a spokesman for the office, said this afternoon that a lawsuit is now a definite. Gottstein would provide no details of the legal rationale for such a suit, indicating the process is “still being worked out.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she plans to bring health-care reform to a vote this week. Democratic leaders cite national polls that show support for individual provisions of the bill as a reason to pass this reform. Yet vulnerable politicians should be warned: Responses to questions about individual benefits, particularly when removed from a cost context, are different from those on the whole bill.
Voters in key congressional districts are clear in their opposition to what they have seen, read and heard on health-care reform. That’s one of the findings of a survey that will be released today by the Polling Company on behalf of Independent Women’s Voice. The survey consisted of 1,200 registered voters in 35 districts represented by members who could determine the outcome of the health-care debate. Twenty of those members voted for the House bill in November but now may be reconsidering. Fifteen voted against the bill but are under tremendous pressure to change their vote.

David Paul Kuhn writes (I warn the reader: There is language I cannot condone in this article) at Real Clear Politics comparing Gov. Jindal with two other leading Republicans: Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin (who got rare praise from President Obama and immediate criticism from Speaker Pelosi – both compliments as I see it!) and Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels.

Seriously, Senator Reid has a face of a Saint – A Saint Bernard. Now I know why they call you the arithmetic man. You add partisanship, subtract pleasure, divide attention, and multiply ignorance. Reid is so physically unimposing, he makes Pee Wee Herman look like Mr. T. And Reid’s so dumb, he makes Speaker Pelosi look like an intellectual. Nevada is soooo screwed! If I were less polite, I’d say Reid makes Kevin Federline look successful.
