Delegate Bob Marshall has asked Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli (and the Republican Gubernatorial Candidate-in-Waiting) for a legal opinion on the massive tax increase bill pushed by Bob McDonnell and masquerading as a Transportation Bill (43% goes to grow government) as well as McDonnell’s plan to advance ObamaCare in the Commonwealth. BOTH ARE UNCONSTITUTIONAL according [...]

There will be a fierce debate on the centerpiece of tort reform in Virginia: Should the judge have the power to grant summary judgment on depositions. This would give the judge the power to grant judgment in a case if there was no facts to go further based on the sworn testimony of the witnesses [...]

People might laugh at this idea, but there are at least three good solid reasons why the Tea Party (I am a member of my local Tea Party group – the Mechanicsville Tea Party!) should support the initiative that Senator Chap Petersen has introduced on the Appellate Defender’s (more details here!) office: 1. The Tea [...]

In a must-read column today, George Will discusses a potential challenge to the Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling that the high court will consider taking up in a few weeks. Roll Call reports on the background of the case: “The high court signaled this week that it would meet in private conference on June 14 to decide how [...]

Artur Davis is a former Democratic Congressman who aspired to be the first African-American Governor of Alabama. Alas, he lost. (It is believed that Alabama, by the way, DID elect the first statewide African-American candidate in the USA if you do not count the rigged Reconstruction elections – this justice of the state supreme court. In an interesting story to me (and after all that is what matters here at Virginia Right!) Governor McDonnell has shown decisive leadership (the kind of leadership that ought to be in DC) in two areas. First, he fired all but one member of the Virginia Port Authority and replaced them with new people. There [...]

Conservatives recall well the Miss USA fiasco last year. Carrie Prejean, Miss California USA was asked the infamous question about Proposition 8 in California, reversing the state supreme court’s decision establishing a state constitutional right to gay marriage. She stated she supported it. Some, including Prejean, have suggested that she lost the crown due to the answer. [...]

The Democrats response to the well laid out plan, that includes funding of Virginia’s transportation needs was rapidly met with a pack of Democratic distortions and out of context quotes. If they spent half the time they did working on the response on a plan of their own, they would be far better off.
