McDonnell v. United States is at the Supreme Court TODAY! Please Pray!

I know many readers might disagree but I want to encourage all to pray that former Governor Bob McDonnell’s convictions be overturned.  He might be extremely foolish but he is NOT a crook.  There will be more of these prosecutions if McDonnell loses. Please join me in prayer that the Court will decide this right.

Beware the Son of Magnitsky: Global Meddling at a Whim of Congress or the President! It MUST BE Stopped!

I just posted on the original Magnitsky Act, which was a gross meddling in the internal affairs of Russia and which named names and convicted those as human rights abusers.  It violates in my view the clear provision of the US Constitution that states as follows (Article I, Section 9): No Bill of Attainder or […]

I heard a fragment on John Fredericks and saw this blurb at Blue Elephant about Henrico Sheriff Mike Wade possibly running in the primary against Cong. Dave Brat. Here’s Sandy’s position:  I’m walking through a gasoline fire to help/vote for Cong. Dave Brat!  Here’s a place to go to help or give money for Dr. […]

Governor Jim Gilmore got SEVEN Minutes on MSNBC Tuesday!

It’s great to hear my candidate, former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore, on the video list – he got seven minutes or so on MSNBC in prime time and here it is! I am pleased with the general tone of the interview.  Gilmore played to his strengths:  Taxes and Foreign Policy (fighting Terrorism) and he sounded […]

It’s Official: Green Cards Now Part Of 2016 Debate

This just went up on Breitbart: In one of the stranger quirks in the long arc of Western civilization, a green-tinted sheet of laminated paper— no larger than a drivers license— has done more to change the course of American history than many of the most intense debates and political upheavals that have occurred since […]

Illegal Immigration is a Simple Problem with a Simple Solution

The primary reason Republicans struggle with immigration, politically, is because they are willing to compromise on the most important principle involved in the debate. We can talk about the difficulties and expense of legal immigration, the impossibility of deporting 12 million human beings, the logistical problems of dealing with illegal immigrants once they’ve crossed our […]

Much Ado About Immigration

Due to Robert Sarvis’ supposedly controversial position on immigration and Hanover County’s recent kerfuffle over the matter, I have given a great deal of thought to the issue of immigration and am convinced that the framework of the discussion lacks a great deal of clarity and integrity. I intend to clarify the issue and offer […]

September 1st, 1939

On September 1st, 1939, Neville Chamberlain addressed the country that he led with the following words, “I do not propose to say many words tonight. The time has come when action rather than speech is required. Eighteen months ago in this House I prayed that the responsibility might not fall upon me to ask this […]

Dealing With This President’s New Immigration Strategy

The President of the United States is considering “whether to allow hundreds of minors and young adults from Honduras into the United States without making the dangerous trek through Mexico”, according to the New York Times. By moving decisions on refugee claims to Honduras, the plan aims to slow the rush of minors crossing into […]

GREAT OP-ED in LA TIMES on the TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP (EVEN if it DID made me LAY DOWN!) PONDER if a PRESIDENT JOHN BOLTON would ADOPT a TPP?

Here is a fabulous op-ed on the sovereignty killing Trans-Pacific Partnership.  A few highlights: But foremost among all these issues is the devastating effect the agreement would have on jobs and the American middle class. Americans were promised 20 years ago that NAFTA would bring an unprecedented economic boom and 200,000 jobs in the first […]

DID SLATE MAGAZINE SAY the US acted ILLEGALLY in KOSOVO? IT SURE DID…AND THERE’S MORE!

There is this astounding comment in this Slate article [by Eric Posner] about the United States in Kosovo: By contrast, the United States’ illegal military intervention in Serbia, a Russian client state, enabled Kosovo to break away and form a state with the support of the United States and more than 100 other countries. Wow […]

User Submitted: DOES FEDERAL LAW TRUMP STATE LAW ?

DOES FEDERAL LAW TRUMP STATE LAW ? Can a state pass and enforce a law that is in opposition to a federal law? Those who think not cite what is called the Supremacy Clause, which they interpret to say that federal law is supreme over state law. Some would argue that the states cannot pick […]

ECONOMIC SANCTIONS against ANY NATION must be NECESSARY and TARGETED to those whose BEHAVIOR we seek to INFLUENCE! OTHERWISE they are IMMORAL!

I am ready to take my stand on economic sanctions.  Unless they are necessary and specifically targeted to affect the group or persons whose behavior who we seek to change, they are immoral.  Here’s an article in the New York Times on the sanctions against Iran.  I was chilled by this quote: Obama administration officials […]

SEND the FOREIGN ELECTION OBSERVERS HOME IMMEDIATELY! WE DON’T NEED ‘EM and they have an AGENDA!

Apparently the Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe does not have enough to do.  In spite of elections in such places as Ukraine and regimes in places such as Belarus, the OSCE is sending election observers to the United States to monitor our voting. But they are unwelcome as far as I am concerned.  […]
