President Obama, as most president’s are expected to do, had a ceremony honoring America’s Military Veteran’s for Veteran’s Day on Monday. (I am not sure why he chose Monday November 7, 2011 as Veteran’s Day is actually on November 11, 2011. Perhaps he was busy that day.) It is a known fact that many on [...]

I did not hear the debate last evening in Ames but I heard about it and heard the Ron Paul highlights. They were great! I also read comments from two sources I admire and respect but on this I disagree: Erick Erickson and Gary Bauer. Erickson asserted Paul had “embarrassed” himself and Bauer in his [...]

Chaffetz stated he considered it intently, even calling three family members of servicemembers who died in Afghanistan. He was surprised to find all three said yes, end the war. So Chaffetz joined a [...]

I wrote two months ago at Virginia Right and Conflicted Libertarian about the Young Turks of the Tory Party – young MPs recently elected to the British Parliament who might have an impact. It nearly caused me to have a midlife crisis! But the most prominent of the Young Turks is Rory Stewart. He has [...]

Remember 2007 and early 2008 when most of the conservative pundits were laughing at Ron Paul because of the war? I had to re-hear the post-debate comments with Sean Hannity, Duncan Hunter, Carl Cameron and finally Michael Steele (at that time GOPAC Chairman) just to make sure my memory was right. Steele said that based [...]

Support for the war in Iraq was initially very strong among the American people. And the approval ratings of George W. Bush reflected this support. Needing an issue with which to smear Bush, the John Kerry campaign came up with the idea of making the Iraq war the wrong war. The enemy that attacked us were not in Iraq. Al-Qaeda was hiding in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Kerry used this thinking, along with demanding withdrawal dates, to make sure President Bush failed in Iraq.
