Since it has been proven at this blog that Bill Janis is more popular than sex (compare the comment numbers for my Janis pieces and this article I wrote about the topless girls on page three of the Sun [UK]!) I realize I am treading onto dangerous territory!

Bill Janis got endorsed by the NRA!

He also got support today from Del. Manoli Loupassi and a favorite of mine, Del. Rob Bell:

Delegate Bell said, “I knew Bill when he was in law school, and we were elected together in 2001. For his entire tenure of 10 years, Bill was my seatmate on the floor of the General Assembly. I know we could have an easier time getting a conservative agenda through the Senate if he was a Senator. On June 9th, I hope you will vote for Bill Janis.”
Delegate Loupassi said, “I have known Bill Janis for 15 years. We have worked together to get Republicans elected at all levels of government. Bill Janis is a fighter who is not afraid to stand up for what is right. I’m proud to add my name to the long list of elected officials and community leaders who support Bill Janis to be our next State Senator.”

Bill Janis can get things done in Richmond.

About Elwood Sanders

Sandy was also Virginia's first Appellate Defender and also helped bring curling in VA! (None of these titles imply any endorsement of Sanders’ views)

Bill Janis walked on HB 2327 that would have protected the Second Amendment in Va. Bill Janis voted FOR SB 660 and the expansion of gun free zones in Va.

Why is VCDL (Virginia Citizens Defense League ) endorsing his opponent, Vince Haley?

Because VCDL knows the Second Amendment is not negotiable. Bill Janis walked on taxes AND he walked on the Second Amendment. Vote Vince for Victory.

  2. Connie Simpson says:

Bill Janis’ wife, Roseann Janis, was the 7th District Republican Committee Treasurer for Eric Cantor and Linwood Cobb- they voted to send back $300,000 to the RNC- effectively bankrupting the 7th District GOP account when Linwood Cobb and Eric Cantor were defeated ( out of spite to prevent new 7th District Chairman Fred Gruber from organizing effectively).

Now the RPV is begging for money to keep the lights on – literally begging- Nancy Russell and Delegate Jimmie Massie begged for money at a recent Hanover GOP committee meeting-
when it was pointed out that Roseann et al had done this- Jimmie Massie feigned ignorance. LOL

Sandy- You are just out of touch and out of your lane AGAIN.

  3. Raj Inuwad says:

NRA endorsement? Are you kidding? That is WORTHLESS.

Cantor must have lobbied the NRA for the endorsement for Janis.
But that would be illegal right? A Former congressman Lobbying?

  4. Ed Gruenwald says:

    Mr. Sanders:

Delegates who endorse candidates outside of their geography do not matter to voters. Those guys in the General Assembly Swap Money like Spit on a Date.

Look at Eric Cantor’s endorsement and donations Delegate David Ramadan- a Muslim in NOVA- who in turn endorsed and donated to Cantor’s friends and allies ( candidates).

Delegate Ramadan endorsed Bill Janis recently- hosted a BarBQ in Richmond for him at the Spotts home on River Road. His name was on the invitation. Now Ramadan isn’t even running for re-election for his own seat- gave it up after the filing deadline so no other Republican could file.

The Intelligent Voters of the 12th District do not care about the money laundering endorsements of the other GA members. It’s all lobby money anyway. Go to to see where Rob Bell got his dirty money. That guy should be primaried.

  5. Stephen Lee

Lest I remind you that just days before Cantor was ousted by Brat that Del Peace & HA BOS Davis endorsed & through Cantor a big fundraiser which proved to be meaningless & irrelevant my friend.

  6. Bob Matson says:

The VCDL-PAC endorsed Bill Janis for re-election just months after the supposedly unforgivable missed vote on HB2327. (The final committee vote being 10-8, his vote would not have changed the outcome). VCDL-PAC admits Janis has always been strong on gun rights and returned a 100% survey – yet in this race they endorse an untried neophyte with no record on 2A issues at all. This diminishes VCDL-PAC as a credible voice in this race. If they weren’t outraged in 2005, just months after this committee vote, why is it suddenly so important a decade later?

Yes endorsements do mean something. Rinos and snakes get their rewards!
