AIS Liberty Dually Endorses Vince Haley for Va Senate 12th District

AIS Liberty Dually

This week, the AIS Liberty Dually and Ron Hedlund are proudly endorsing Vince Haley for State Senate.

The AIS Liberty Dually is a tribute to the men and women that founded this great Republic and to those that defend her to this day. One side of the truck is dedicated to family members that have served this great nation and her people. My father and father-in-law were both Master Chiefs in the US Navy and their ships, the U.S.S. Enterprise and the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy, are prominently displayed.

In addition, my son, former GM2, Ryan L. Hedlund, is proudly portrayed in his role as security detail for NATO talks aboard the U.S.S. Porter in the Black Sea. Several other family members are depicted on the driver’s side and the First Navy Jack flies on the rear window.

On the passenger side, the front begins with the first battle of the American Revolution at Lexington Green. In addition, there are the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights. In the background, you can make out the signers of the Declaration of Independence and Trumble’s famous painting of such.

Many other monumental and famous parts of our American story grace the side of the truck and tug at your heartstrings. This piece of artwork, designed by Auggi Jimenez, is meant to inspire pride in, and dedication to, the cause of American freedom and hope for the future of our children and grandchildren.

But enough about the AIS Liberty Dually.

Back late last year, I had the privilege of meeting with Vince Haley and his wife Bethany, in the living room of Mark and Anita Hile. The gathering was intended to meet each other and discuss the potential for putting together and supporting a campaign for the 12th Senate District. I was immediately impressed with both Vince and Bethany. They expressed a conviction for, and revealed a life of dedication to those values most of us hold dear. Life, Liberty, Freedom, and the Rule of Law.

I came away from that meeting inspired and renewed in spirit for our Commonwealth and our Republic.

In the time that has elapsed, I have grown to admire and respect the background and the intellect Vince Haley brings to this race. Born and raised in Virginia, Vince lives in Henrico County with

his wife, Bethany, and three children.  They are members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Vince graduated from the College of William & Mary.  He earned a Masters degree and a law degree from the University of Virginia.  On a Rotary International scholarship, he earned another Masters degree from the College of Europe.  Professionally, Vince has practiced law, co-authored books on public policy, and helped produce several documentary films.  He was the Vice President of Policy at American Solutions for Winning a Future and a Research Director at the American Enterprise Institute.  Presently, he is vice president of special projects for Gingrich Productions.

The race for this senate seat is crucial and Vince understands the importance goes beyond his personal desire to win.

Vince Haley participated in a day-long, Level I class put on by Mark Herr and The Center for Self Governance in Goochland County recently. The program was sponsored by Ben Slone, Chairman of the Goochland County Republican Committee and Susan Lascolette, Chairman of the Goochland County Board of Supervisors. In this class, students learn the foundations of our Republic and the role citizens must play to achieve self-governance. NOT government of the people, by the politicians, and for the special interests. Self-governance is, OF the people, BY the people and FOR the people. Mrs. Powel, of Philadelphia in Ben Franklin’s day, is a key figure throughout the 5 levels of training and represents the influence and civic authority the people have over their elected representatives.

Vince completely understands the role “we the people” must fulfill in order for our Republic to not only survive, but to thrive and provide that shining example for humankind to prosper and live life to its fullest potential. From the beginning, the theme of the Haley campaign has been, “We the people govern”.

This race is not just about Vince Haley, just as the Brat primary was not just about Dave Brat. This race is about the people of the 12th District engaging in, and exercising OUR civic authority to elect the best candidate to office AND holding that person accountable to “we the people”.

The presumptive nominee, and former 10-year, House of Delegates member, Bill Janis, while having an admirable conservative record of votes having been taken and recorded, has some serious issues and concerns of accountability that must stand scrutiny and demands an explanation for his role in allowing for the then, largest tax increase in Virginia history. Mr. Janis must also come clean and explain his insistence on avoiding a crucial committee vote on Constitutional Carry before HIS OWN committee. This HB 2327, sponsored by Del Athey, would have put Virginia at the forefront of protecting our Second Amendment right as a wave of other states are now doing. Instead, Bill Janis purposefully, and physically, avoided being in HIS OWN committee room in order to avoid having to vote AGAINST Constitutional Carry. Where was Bill? The Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) has asked this question and Bill continues to refuse to answer. Other, serious 2A votes exist.

VCDL has endorsed Vince Haley, in part, because of Bill Janis’ spotty support for our Second Amendment. Another reason for the VCDL endorsement, is Vince’s unwavering, 100% support for ALL Second Amendment survey questionnaires. I myself, am an Endowed Lifetime member of the NRA, a life member of the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), a member of the VCDL, a member of the National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR), a life member of the Gun Owners of America (GOA), an Henrico County Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) holder, and the proud grandparent of my son’s daughter, who became a lifetime member of SAF the week she was born: Yes, I wholeheartedly am convinced that Vince Haley will not betray you and VCDL and our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. Just this weekend, it was also  announced that Larry Pratt, Executive Director of GOA is supporting Vince Haley.

This race is about powerful political interests and consultants maintaining control in western Henrico and western Hanover Counties. The defeat of Eric Cantor was a shot heard round the world. That mistrust and skeptisism of professional lobbyists and consultants has not died. The same special interests and supporters that backed Eric Cantor and Ray Allen are now backing Bill Janis and Ray Allen. They are angling to establish their power in the 12th and take out Congressman Dave Brat in another primary and prove to the country that last year’s defeat of the sitting House Majority Leader was a fluke.

Many of us that worked so hard to get Mr. Brat over the primary win can not bear to watch Bill Janis plan and scheme with Ray Allen and the Bill Bolling crowd to silence and diminish your voice. It is a vivid memory in my mind, watching Bill Janis badger and harangue Dave Brat at that Henrico GOP breakfast one year ago. Indeed, there was an Eric Cantor tracker there, recording every word Mr. Brat spoke while being interrogated. I was so taken aback by the repeated badgering, that I turned around and took a picture of Janis while he was trying to bait the eventual Congressman. Many of Dave’s supporters remember the episode to this day.

Roughly two and a half weeks remain until we nominate our next Senator from the 12th District. I am urging you to support Vince Haley if you have not made up your mind yet. If you are leaning to another candidate, please reconsider and feel free to contact me through this site. Please make a donation, large or small to Vince Haley. Please volunteer to knock doors. Please call your friends, family and neighbors. Please write letters to the editor. The firestorm that swept the 7th last year is sweeping the 12th. Be a part of history. Change the course of human events.

Vince Haley has been endorsed by the VCDL!

I posted this previously but it is an important messege:

I was disappointed to see that Siobahan Stolle-Dunnavant did not fill out the NRA’s survey. She is the only candidate to skip it. She also didn’t bother to fill out the VCDL’s survey. Again she was the only candidate to skip it.

With the State Senate hanging by one vote we cannot afford to put another RINO in who will stab us in the back when our 2nd Amendment rights come up for a vote.

Does Dr. Stolle agree with our new Surgeon General Vivek Murthy that our right to keep and bear arms is a public health threat?
