Botswana’s best medal hope, 400 meter track star Amantle Montsho, easily won her Olympics quarterfinal heat today in London and will advance to the semifinals tomorrow. The other two Batswana (Batswana is the adjective for the people of Botswana; I plan to use it for here on) athletes remaining in the Games, Nijel Amos (800m) and Isaac Makwala (400m) will commence competition on August 6 and 4, respectively. We’ll see. Top in each semifinal and either top four in each heat or top six times overall will advance to the medal heat on Sunday.
