First SHAME on the Fairfax Chamber for not inviting business-friendly Libertarian Robert Sarvis to the debate.  Here is a candidate running on a shoestring budget and he is polling at or near ten percent and they won’t invite him to the debate due to its reported “tradition” of only inviting major party candidates.  I can understand if the Libertarian was polling at 1 or 2 percent but this is radically different.

But Sarvis knows how to make lemonade:  He ran his first TV ad – here is the article with the ad in it during the debate – predictably right after two attack ads by the “major party” candidates.  (I still think it is worth running for governor just to have my name on that 50s era drive in restaurant!)

Here’s my idea that I suggested to the campaign:  Go to all the TV stations and find out if they have an urgent situation – the diet pill people did not pay the bill or something – and offer it to Sarvis for a pittance!  Thirty minutes at 2 am on Sunday morning will still reach thousands.  And it can be retwitted and blogged about for days.  (Yes I talk to the campaign regularly!  Robert Sarvis is the best thing that has happened in Virginia politics since Maggie Lena Walker ran for statewide office [Superintendent of Public Education] in the 20s!  BTW, Walker ran as a Republican.)
