David McCormick to Join Allen and Radtke in US Senate Primary

Our friends over at Bearing Drift revealed a potential potential candidate for the US Senate seat being vacated by Democrat Jim Webb, Timothy Donner (see the story at Bearing Drift).

It seems that another candidate, Hampton Roads Attorney David McCormick,  has already joined the growing field.

David’s Bio

Our Military has always been a part of David McCormick’s life. David’s father was a pilot in the Air Force and served for 30 years. During his childhood David had a chance to live in 10 different states in addition to living in Africa and Asia. He learned first hand the sacrifices a military family makes.

Scouting has been important to David. To this day the Boy Scout Law, Oath, and Motto guide his life. David scouted for 7 years and obtained the rank of Eagle Scout.

Education is a crucial key to success and also to rebuild our national economy. David’s background includes:

1981 Business Degree at Baylor University

1985 Masters in Business and Human Resources at Amber University

1994 Law Degree from Regent University Law School

David joined United Parcel Service in 1979 and over a 13 year period he ran 9 different business operations.  As a training manager he trained over 500 management personnel and 1,000 drivers and loaders. David respects the working people who make our country great.

15 years ago, David began his own legal practice and has served over 10,000 clients in Hampton Roads. He has reviewed over 250,000 pages of legal documents and 8000 budgets, and had over 3000 court appearances.

In addition, he has been a part-time law professor for 6 years at Regent University.

David has taught every age group Sunday School class, has served as a men’s leader, and he and his wife, Judy, serve on the Compassion Ministry Team at their church.

Judy and David have four children whose ages range from 14-28. Two of the children were adopted. David loves sports, exercising at the The “Y”, travel, politics, family movies, and his cat, Max.

David has volunteered on numerous Republican campaigns, served on steering committees, as a precinct captain, and served on the Finance Committee and City Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia Beach.

He has submitted legislation and argued for its passage in Richmond. He and his wife are Founders of the America’s Ice Cream Party for Kids. David has recently started the On-Line Community for Small Businesses in Virginia. David has also served: Fairfield Elementary Parents Leadership Council – 3 years Norfolk Sports Club Board -7 years. 2005 President. Rotary Member

McCormick joins Richmond TEA Party activist Jamie Radtke and former US Senator George Allen in the primary race.

Delegate Bob Marshal, Prince William County Chairman Corey Stewart,  and Bishop E. W. Jackson are said to be considering a potential run on the Republican ticket.

Virginia Right! blogger Sandy Sanders spoke to McCormick about his candidacy earlier this week.
