Great News! Jamelle Wilson, Hanover School Superintendent Quits!

Great news. The Progressive defender of the Muslim controversy and a number of other divisive issues Jamelle Wilson is leaving.

From the Richmond Times Dispatch:

Jamelle S. Wilson is leaving her job as superintendent of Hanover County schools to become dean of the University of Richmond’s School of Professional and Continuing Studies, UR announced this morning.

Wilson will begin her new role at the University of Richmond on Aug. 1.

Wilson has been Hanover’s superintendent since July 2011 but has worked for the district for more than 20 years.

Now let’s hope the Hanover Board of Supervisors takes a long, hard look at the contract for the next Super.

And let’s hire someone with an eye towards educating the kids and leaving the Social Experiment and Islamic views out of the schools.

Good for Dr. Wilson. She will be missed in Hanover and we wish her all the very best in her new position. She is one of Hanover County’s shining stars and a great role model for the students.

Now for the School Board appointed by the Hanover County Board of Supervisors: Here’s my message to you:

Don’t you dare spend $40,000 of taxpayers money on a “nation wide search committee” and then hire an internal candidate like you did 4 years ago when Dr. Roberson retired. And also- We don’t have to pay a superintendent $200,000 a year plus a car to attract a good candidate. Hanover has a great quality of life, reasonable taxes, affordable housing and good schools for the Supe’s kids to attend without having to pay for private education. That is incentive enough to attract the very best candidate.
What choices do they have: Richmond, Chesterfield, Henrico? They’ll be running over the county line to get here.

Get back to earth on the salary offering. The Times Dispatch area salary comparisions should not determine what the citizens of Hanover County should pay for a superintendent.

End the end, she probably resigned because the thought of Hankster Lowry, Wayne Hazzard’s long time golf buddy and real estate agent is rumored to be the next school board chairman and the same Board of Supervisors that made her life miserable the past four years are coming back in November- except for Wade and Via.

The filing date to run for Hanover County Board of Supervisors is June 9th with signed petition signatures so get busy if you want to take your county back from the DEVELOPERS and CONTRACTORS feeding at the county trough like the current Board of Supervisors.

Where are the comments from the Hanover County Teachers Union that Supervisor Angela Kelly Wiecek runs out of the Chickahominy District? Friends of Hanover Schools?

  3. Michelle Kwan says:

All I can say is Hank Lowry better not be the next School Board Chairman- what a JOKE-
Hanover County prided itself so much on having Dr. Wilson and they would stoop so low to have Hank Lowry as School Board Chairman? Let me guess- Wayne Hazzard’s fingerprints are all over that one.

Hank has the listing for Hazzard’s 10 plus acre lot on Route 1 and Lewistown Road- listed for millions.
Just down the road from the proposed outlet mall he just negotiated for and the new I-95 Road project coming in- talk about cashin’ in.

Who wants to sign petitions for elected school boards in Hanover County?

  4. Tammy Willoughby says:

Henry Supervisor Sean Davis and Beaverdam Supervisor Aubrey “Buckey” Stanley have School Board appointments to make in June ahead of the July School Board votes for Chairman. Both of their current appointments MUST BE PURGED for FAILURE TO DO THEIR JOBS OR ANYTHING QUITE FRANKLY.

We need to pressure those two for solid fiscally conservative ethical appointments with business and education backgrounds.

    No more “Buddy appointments.”

This county needs to be investigated- too bad we don’t have anyone who will do that EARNING six figures in Hanover County.
