First, since I am pretty sure Robert Sarvis, who Lord willing, I will hear again speak on Tuesday to the Crusade for Voters, since I am pretty sure Sarvis reads this blog, let me say:  Happy Birthday to Robert who is at that disgusting age of 37!  (I was 37 seventeen years ago!)  If you want to find a fitting thing to do for his birthday, I’d guess Sarvis would like a donation to his campaign best of all!  Here’s his website.

The alternative independent (AltDaily calls itself Hyper-Local and Ultra Independent; Hyper Local is very clever!) media source AltDaily has two fine articles on the Libertarian.  Here’s the interview.  But the highlights I want to bring out is in this article by David Paul Kleinman:  SARVIS FOR GOVERNOR:

The only way we can fight this is to say no to hype, no to divisiveness, no to dogma, no to self-righteousness, no to selfishness, no to media, and yes to Sarvis. If my vote helps one of the other two get into office, then that’s a risk I am willing to take.

In many elections a third party vote is a wasted vote, but I challenge you to read our interview with Sarvis here, and then tell me he isn’t the man for Virginia. Tell me his message doesn’t cut through the partisan bile and treat us like grownups. Tell me we can afford another minute with a major party stooge beholden to nothing but his own vanity. Tell me business as usual will work for Virginia. For a very long time I followed the motto of WC Fields: “I never vote for anyone; I always vote against.” But this year I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore. I’m voting for Robert Sarvis.

I like this very much and I think this is potential untapped voter bloc.  If young people and people uninterested in the major parties and angry Tea Partiers vote in large numbers this November, there could be a major shock.  I just regret that Sarvis can’t get the funds to get at least on the radio.  Libertarians around the country can help there.
