I just saw Dr. Ben Carson on the View TV show and how he tussled with Whoopi Goldberg on welfare and then was on Fox News about his new book.  Now I did agree with Goldberg (who I admire as an actress and person but disagree with on many issues) that welfare has no incentive to work – in fact they discourage work (which actually proves Dr. Carson’s point) while on it – if you work, you lose benefits!

When Carson said on Fox – yes the parties can reduce corporate tax or streamline the personal tax structure (My solution:  Repeal the XIV Amendment and abolish the income tax probably gradually over time) or stimulate the economy.  I have not yet read his book but he sounded smart, articulate and soothing.  I was also pleased to see his idea – let’s try to reverse the entitlement society with a more entrepreneurial one.  Few commercials make

Will Dr. Carson run for President?  He said to the idea about running for some office:  We’ll see in a almost flirty tone.  I think he would add to the debate.  Maybe a Bolton/Carson ticket in 2016?  I’d pray about applying to work for that campaign – if Farage does not call me first!

I think it’ll come to Rand Paul versus Ben Carson, versus Christie and Bush. God help us all if Carson or Paul don’t pull it out.

Look, Hispanics, blacks, women, are so rare in the Republcan party, that every time one gets near a Republican microphone it is a circus act. Palin, Cruz, Marco Rubio, whoever.

On the view, Dr. Carson, basically a retired brain surgeon, talked about health insurance. Now, would you ask a person in the health insurance industry about brain surgery? Then why would you ask a brain surgeon about health insurance? I suspect that Dr. Carson was so consumed by being a department head and brain surgeon that he had little time to get involved in what was going on with anything else in the world.

Wasn’t Mitt Romney a Mormon, a lot of people had a problem with that and would not vote for him because of his religion. Isn’t Dr. Carson a Seventh-day Adventist, do you really think people are going to vote for someone of that religion if they wouldn’t vote for a Mormon? Do they believe that the Pope is the antichrist? (Goggle it) If so, that will go over real well with Catholics. And just so you will know, a SDA minister who had his Masters in Divinity through their college system, told me that SDA is a cult. That was 30 years ago. I really do not know. Please don’t shoot the messenger here.

Dr. Carson appears to be making a few bucks in his retirement. Hey Dr., 1 Timothy 6:10. The press is having a field day with another Republican freak show, and making money off it also. Come election time, it will be Dr. Who. Possibly Dr. Carson is using this to get the message out about Seventh-day Adventists.

I would love to debate Dr. Carson in a public forum about religion and healthcare. Just love to.

Dr. Carson is a fine man but he doesn’t understand Constitutional, limited government, and therefore will find electoral success within the GOP exceedingly difficult.

  4. Gene Lefty says:

I wasn’t judging his character, just questioning the logic of the situation. I have nothing against the Dr., and feel certain that he is most likely a genius in his field.

There are many good people in every religion. I am just not sure that the majority of Americans will vote for anyone these days that is not from one of the mainstream religions.

    I could be wrong.
