I have known Amanda Chase for several years. We have worked on numerous campaigns together in one capacity or another. She is a smart lady and has an amazing ability to calmly analyze any situation and come up with a rational plan of action. She is a terrific organizer and a positive energy to be around.
There are some people that I have met in various walks of life that you just know are leaders. Dave Brat was one of those and it was no surprise to me when he called on Amanda to help him shift gears from primary to general election mode.
And like I told most of my friends who were a bit skeptical when Brat tapped her to assist his transition when they became aware that she worked for Eric Cantor at one point, so did I. Most of us who supported Dave were at one point strong supporters of Cantor. And I view the fact that Eric Cantor trusted Amanda’s judgement as very high praise. Cantor didn’t get where he did surrounding himself with inept people. And I still call people I worked with on Cantor’s behalf friends.
And it is time for a change in the 11th Virginia Senatorial District which includes all of Amelia, all of Colonial Heights and much of Chesterfield County. It is time for a woman’s touch in the 11th.
And I personally endorse Amanda Chase for Virginia Senate. (Note – this is not a Virginia Right! endorsement – we will look at blog endorsements before the primary or whatever method is chosen.)
If you visit Amanda’s Campaign Page here you will see her positions on the issues and other information about this exceptional wife, mother and businesswoman including:
Issues
PRO-BUSINESS
Amanda is concerned that federal mandates are causing small businesses to reduce full time employees to part time hours to survive expensive and cost prohibitive federal demands and will work with businesses to find creative alternatives.
Will support policies that allow small business owners to grow and thrive by eliminating unnecessary business taxes, especially on businesses that are less than 5 years old.
PRO-LIMITED, SMALLER, MORE TRANSPARENT GOVERNMENT
Amanda supports a leaner, limited government, adherence to the principles of our state and federal Constitutions, adoption of policies that cut red tape for businesses and encourage economic prosperity and transparency in government. Amanda supports the efforts to audit the Federal Reserve.
She will call for an end on unfunded state mandates on local governments that make local residents financially obligated for policies they neither asked for nor approved. There must be a permanent ban on unfunded state mandates and a roll back of these burdens on local taxpayers.
Amanda will end the practice of raiding segregated state funds to pay for other programs by requiring a lock box of these funds. If taxpayer revenue is collected for a specific purpose, it should be used for that purpose.
WILL FIGHT THE EXPANSION OF MEDICAID
Amanda will fight the expansion of Obamacare in Virginia. Expanding Medicaid will result in a significant increase in spending and taxes, costing Virginia taxpayers nearly a billion dollars. And the long term entitlement costs will bury present and future generations of Virginians. The federal government’s promise to help cover the cost of Medicaid expansion is a promise that’s certain to be broken, leaving Virginia with a bill it can’t pay.
PRO PARENTAL CHOICE AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY FOR OUR CHILDREN
We must provide the best educational opportunity for each child. Amanda believes parents are best suited to determine what type of education their children should receive, whether it’s private, public or homeschooling. She would support the Tebow Bill that allows homeschooled children of taxpaying parents to participate in public school sports. She wants to make it easier for Charter Schools to operate in Virginia.
Amanda does not support Common Core. The responsibility for student achievement is best handled by the states and individual school districts, not the federal government. States and localities know best. We should allow them to define student academic standards and assessments.
SUPPORTS STATES RIGHTS
Virginia must use its authority to limit the federal government to its enumerated powers and reassert the rights of our citizens and the sovereignty of our Commonwealth.
SUPPORTS YOUR 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS
Amanda will fight to protect your Constitutional right to bear arms. The 2nd Amendment specifically identifies the right of an individual to “keep and bear” firearms which protects our natural right of self-defense. Amanda will fight to stop any further efforts to infringe on this right and pursue eliminating the infringements that already exist.
SUPPORTS TERM LIMITS
In addition, Amanda will support term limits for all members of the General Assembly. Seats belong to the people, not politicians. No more career politicians. Yes- to citizen legislators who want to serve; but no more than 5 terms in the House and 3 in the Senate, so that legislators do not lose touch with its constituents.
SUMMARY
Strong Conservative
Supports term limits for members of the General Assembly
Supports protecting innocent life
Promoting fiscal responsibility
Will fight against the expansion of Medicaid in Virginia
Pro-jobs
Pro-family
Pro-low taxes
Pro-second amendment
Pro-life
Pro-Small Business
Will vote to protect traditional marriage
Town halls to listen to constituents
And I really can’t find a thing there to argue with.

Nor do I! I like Amanda Chase for standing up against the lies against David Brat and allowing her name to be used in Brat’s one very effective mailing just before the election. That took guts. Nobody hardly thought Brat would win.
Sandy
This has nothing to do with with Amanda Chase, as I’m not in her district and do not know the lady. It has to do with a term Tom used that she supports.
This is a question for Tom and Sandy, could you define fiscal responsibility? It seems to me that without a definition, to say that something is fiscally responsible means nothing?
By my definition, the Virginia budgets of the last four years have been totally and completely irresponsible by any standard. In fact, they have been totally outrageous. That being said, most people seem to consider them A-OK.
In this stale economy of hours, which seems to be the new normal, there should be little if any increase in the size of government, or in taxation.
Government doesn’t work anymore. I would ask anyone running for office this question, “what would you do differently than what has been done for the last two or four years”? Without a good answer I simply wouldn’t vote that person.
Just for the record, Lefty’s President Obama has dangerously doubled the U.S. debt from 9T to 18T in just 6 years.

I don’t know Amanda Chase from Adam, she might be all the things she says she is, but talk is cheap. One) we don’t know if any of what she says is true (though this is the case for anyone, until they have a voting record), and two) much of the issues mentioned are kind of vague.
Well, a year and a half out with an election in between, vague is pretty standard stuff. Once the campaign begins after November 4th, things will be fine tuned.

Not saying she is bad, but like all politicians with tainted pasts they should be watched and thoroughly held to the refining fire. Supporting Cantor out of ignorance (like I once did) and working for him are two different things, but then Curt Diemer did, and he seems to have been redeemed, so maybe this is the case with Mrs. Chase.

PS, Cantor would have said he supported all these things, and she did work for Cantor.
Amanda chase us the worst person I’ve e et come across and that is saying a lot. My God!
