This article from speculates that the Biblical account of the parting of the Red Sea could be scientifically possible:

Computer models then showed how a 12-hour east wind of 101kph (63mph) could cut through the 1.8m (6ft) lake, creating a ‘bridge’ 3.2km (two miles) long and 4.8km (three miles) wide for Moses and his people to walk across.

Of course the article both supports the Bible but also suggests the naturalistic “solution” to the story.  I want to say:  Which one is it?  God or natural forces?  Why bother to verify a Bible story you do not believe?  Besides, here’s what the Bible actually says (Exodus 14:21-22 KJV):

“And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.  And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.”  (Emphasis added)

Looks like the LORD did indeed use the east wind to save the Israelites.  If this is true, maybe the rest of the Bible is too – that includes eternal punishment (yes in hell) for those who do not know Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord.  W.C. Fields was quoted as saying he was “looking for a loophole” when he studied the Bible.  There is a loophole and it’s available for all who repent of their sins and come to Jesus for salvation:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  (John 3:16 KJV)
