Leaked Email Exposes Left Wing Bias of Non-Profit Group Involved in Agenda 21 Implementation

The Middle Peninsula Business Development Partnership (MPBDP) has an agenda. And a far left wing bias. This group is behind the anti property rights initiative Agenda 21 – a UN plan to take away property rights and move to a one world government. Those of you familiar with Agenda 21 and the US group ICLEI already know the dangers and insidious nature of these organizations and the organizations they have recruited to help quietly implement their plans.

One of the obstacles those who wish to protect property rights face is people like Candie Newman, a Director with the MPBDP whose leaked email exposes her as a Democratic operative as you can see below:

FYI – the MPPDC Commission Meeting last night was once again targeted by fringe tea party people
campaigning against everything and anything related to community planning. This appears to be a very
small group, some of whom do not even live here (others too paranoid to provide their address), who are
preaching awareness of “Agenda 21” and in the process trying to derail any initiative related to the concept of sustainable community development including water, sewer, transportation, economic development, zoning – you name it. They have managed to derail some popular programs in Hampton Roads primarily because they are engaged in the process. Since so many of you are involved with the Democratic party perhaps we need a counter movement.

Check out their web site at This is very scary stuff – they are promoting conspiracy theories and paranoia via a sophisticated propaganda campaign.

I think they have moved beyond the stage of being able to be shrugged off as kooks.

Well, yes, Candie. I have some thoughts.

First off, I am no legal expert, but your call for Democratic operatives to assist you in a coordinated effort to shut down a group of concerned citizens should be considered a good reason to revoke the Tax Exempt Status of the Middle Peninsula Business Development Partnership. And the fact that you used their computers and internet service to call on Democrats to join you in a “counter movement” is a major lapse in judgement on your part.

I would draw your attention to this publication from the Alliance for Justice:

A 501(c)(3) should not conduct research on an issue in order to provide it to a particular candidate or party
or at the request of a particular candidate or party. In addition, it cannot use any of its resources to pay for or participate in a partisan event.

Ms. Newman is a Democratic operative calling for a coordinated effort by her fellow Democrats to rise up against concerned voters who fear – for good reason – their best interests are not what Democrats have in mind when they push sustainable development. What is perhaps most shocking is the comfort and confidence that she has in the fact that the entire group are Democrats. This is obviously a partisan Tax Exempt organization in the image of Move-on.Org who is presently involved in a battle to revoke their tax exempt status for the same type of partisan behavior.

Why are they concerned? Consider the following statement from J. Gary Lawrence, adviser to President Clinton’s Council on Sustainable Development.

“Participating in a UN advocated planning process would very likely bring out many of the conspiracy- fixated groups and individuals in our society… This segment of our society who fear ‘one-world government’ and a UN invasion of the United States through which our individual freedom would be stripped away would actively work to defeat any elected official who joined ‘the conspiracy’ by undertaking LA21. So we call our process something else, such as comprehensive planning, growth management or smart growth.”

So even back in the early days under President Clinton the push back on “one world government” was anticipated and ways to hide the agenda were already in the works. They thought of everything!

Apparently, Candie, you are not one of those “who fear one world government” – rather, you look forward to the day when UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is telling you you must move to a high rise “sustainable” human warehouse far away from the waterfront rich environment of the Middle Peninsular, an area rich in natural beauty that attracted you in the first place. My opinion is that you are unaware what the master plan is that you are helping to implement. Rather, you are one of the “useful idiots” who’s heads the Progressives have filled with visions of Unicorns and Rainbows. I believe you will some day wake up and see that you have been duped.

You see, Candie, there is good reason for voters to be suspicious. We must constantly be on guard against those who would usurp our rights, especially our property rights, or us “Kooks” will be wondering what happened to our private ownership rights.

And there are far more reasons to be on guard against this hiden agenda. Consider the following quotes:

  • “No one fully understands how or even, if, sustainable development can be achieved; however, there is growing consensus that it must be accomplished at the local level if it is ever to be achieved on a global basis.” The Local Agenda 21 Planning Guide, published by ICLEI, 1996.
  • “Land…cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market. Private land ownership is also a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth, therefore contributes to social injustice.” From the report from the 1976 UN’s Habitat I Conference.
  • “Individual rights will have to take a back seat to the collective.” Harvey Ruvin, Vice Chairman, ICLEI. The Wildlands Project
  • “We must make this place an insecure and inhospitable place for Capitalists and their projects – we must reclaim the roads and plowed lands, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams, free shackled rivers and return to wilderness millions of tens of millions of acres or presently settled land.” Dave Foreman, Earth First.
  • What is not sustainable? Ski runs, grazing of livestock, plowing of soil, building fences, industry, single family homes, paves and tarred roads, logging activities, dams and reservoirs, power line construction, and economic systems that fail to set proper value on the environment.” UN’s Biodiversity Assessment Report.

And what of the Campaign for Liberty? What is this scary stuff you are talking about, Candie?

Consider the mission statement for the Campaign for Liberty:

Our mission is to promote and defend the great American principles of individual liberty, constitutional government, sound money, free markets, and a noninterventionist foreign policy, by means of educational and political activity.

Really scary stuff, Candie. The Constitution is the biggest obstacle for you left wing “kooks”. Always has been. And believe it or not, that was intentional. The Founding Fathers even warned us about how you would seek to subject us to your rule and use our own freedoms and laws against us.

There is nothing hidden about the Campaign for Liberty. They are scary to you because they use your own words as weapons against your plans. The same cannot be said of your (Hidden) Agenda 21 plans. The “code words” like sustainability and “smart growth” are, by the admissions of your own cohorts, intended to disguise and fool the people even as their land is stolen away from them, bit by bit.

And those of us who are on the front lines in the constant battle of the erosion of Liberty and Rights are not proponents of pollution and pillaging our land. It is our intent to protect and preserve the land and pass it on to our future generations. We simply realize that the threats to our land come from many sources. Erosion, pollution and overuse. But the most eminent danger and threat today is that from Agenda 21 and left wing ideologues like yourself and your friends you would unite against property owners.

And it might surprise you to know that our main goal is, in fact, sustainability. But the difference between us is that you are only interested in ecological sustainability and we are protecting not only the ecological sustainability, but the sustainability of our Constitutional right to own and enjoy our property.

That is what sustainability is all about.
