Montenegro, part of the Serbia that NATO attacked in 1999 for no reason, will win a handball medal – either gold of silver, depending on what happens against Norway in the women’s handball finals!
Olympic handball debutants Montenegro beat Spain 27-26 on Thursday to set up a final against reigning women’s champions Norway and guarantee the tiny Balkan country its first Games medal.
Montenegro, only officially recognized as an Olympic nation in 2007 and now also with a chance to win their first gold medal, edged ahead in the second-half and will contest the final on Saturday.
Montenegro actually has a chance to medal in the men’s water polo competition, too!
I do not have a Montenegro flag! So, we’ll just play the national anthem. (NBC might need it tomorrow!)
