How do you like this rhyme about UKIP – maybe written by a Farage Labourite (from the UKIP website):
Laocius Invictus NexusThe heart may be red,
But I will never vote for Ed
Get us out of the EU;
That’s what Nigel will do.
We’ll shake the establishment in 2015
But first we must clear this hurdle
In the European and Council elections,
I’m voting for yellow and purple!
There is also this Sunday poll report from the UK Independent:
Today’s ComRes poll gives Ukip its highest lead in a European elections survey, suggesting that the Eurosceptic party will scoop up MEP seats across the country. Among those who are certain to vote, Ukip is on 35 per cent, 11 points ahead of Labour, on 24 per cent, with the Conservatives down two points from the last ComRes poll earlier this month, at 20 per cent. The Green Party has pushed the Liberal Democrats into fifth place and is up two points to 7 per cent, while Nick Clegg’s party is down two to 6 per cent.
I am concerned that turnout higher than expected might skew these numbers but if most of the anit-UKIP vote goes to the Greens, it may still cause UKIP to win anyway. My hope is: No complacency! Keep campaigning right up to the end!
