My Take on the Inauguration

I am perhaps more than anything a student of politics and ideas.  Since that fateful Democratic primary election for governor of Florida so many years ago (1966 I think) I have been fascinated with elections and strategy and ideas.  And this 2016 election cycle was the best yet.

Not that I do not have strong feelings about things.  Not at all.  And my ideology runs across the lines of conservative/libertarian even some liberal ideas.  I do not agree with Trump on some issues like the Muslim ban.

But I am still amazed that Donald Trump won.  Even though I love his Ron Paul part of his platform.  I was in awe when Trump started his campaign, when he started winning primaries, when he won Indiana (actually I wondered for a while if we would have a brokered convention for a while and that would have been fascinating, too) and became the presumptive nominee, when Trump was nominated and when he won the election.  I watch over and over again on Youtube like a great movie the MSNBC coverage of the election night – sections 2 and this time 3 – like five hours – just like Brexit, Trump came from behind to win the election.  (Brexit is also on Youtube, too.)

Now he is our President.  It is like a time warp or worm hole.  I am fascinated that Donald J. Trump is our 45th President.  I loved his inaugural address.  Again a lot of Ron Paul in it.  I want hm to overturn so many of the Obama “reforms” but it will not be easy.  I think Trump will fix the immigration system once and for all and it will be a surprisingly humane solution.

I also liked the oath taking of Vice President Mike Pence – it seemed about halfway through the oath it hit him what he was doing and his voice almost broke and then he had a powerful coda with “so help me God!”.  But Trump taking the oath did have that surreal feeling about it.  It has been an amazing election in 2016.  We’ll probably never see another one like it in our lifetimes.

Think about what if Dr. Emmett Brown had just gone a couple of years later that 2015 – go to January 2017 and came back and Marty McFly asked:

“Who’s President of the United States in 2017?”

Dr. Brown could have said:  Donald Trump – and Marty, it gets better – the Cubs are world champs!

Marty McFly would have thought (if he even knew who Trump was) no that’ll never happen!  Biff could have won the entire town in bets on just those two facts alone.

Now we’ll see what will happen…

What restaurant or bar or cafe will you, or a member of your family, be at when some crazed Muslim terrorist goes off the deep end ? Maybe his local Imam just happened to get him fired up the day before or whatever excuse they usually have for preaching hatred, or you trust our Governments ability to reliably vett Muslim immigrants. Why under Obama were such a high percentage of Muslims-better than 99 percent-verses Christians allowed into the United States ?

    • I did not say we should let people in willy-nilly I just said we should not use religion to bar entry when we can be more specific in doing so and protect our people more effectively. I think Trump is doing what you desire. But we cannot be afraid of all Muslims. Thanks Paul Thiel (Great name – I admire Peter Thiel very much!) for coming by.

We are seeing the Wall St. owned crooked media try to make sure that Americans remain unemployed due to cheap imported and exported foreign labor. I don’t think a 20% tariff on imports is enough. Trump promised 35%. You think we are going to pay the tariff?

Let me ask you a question. Show me just one auto or truck made in Mexico, that you can purchase 1 penny cheaper than a similar vehicle produced in the US? Just one.

You think the manufactures are passing the $3 Mexican labor profit on to you? Then you are stupid. Funny how a $3 hr. labor vs. $30 hr, labor vehicle cost the same on the stealership lot.

Get real. Quit being the stupid Americans.
