Republican Convention – Update Friday PM

The convention was called to order around 2:00 PM and the opening formalities were very well done. The main concern for the day was a proposed change to the convention rules to allow all candidates a number of additional speakers. The proposal would have added several hours to the length of the Saturday session and many thought the delay was an attempt to have the delegates from parts of the state leave before the vote, perhaps favoring one candidate.

The proposal was defeated by standing vote with no fanfare.

The meeting was adjourned until tomorrow at 10:00 AM shortly after 3:00 PM.

We will attend a number of receptions this evening and post an update.
