This was a compendium of news in this interesting article about Ron Paul published in Huntington, WV:

Presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul has his own fervent army of followers. He advocates bringing the troops home from overseas, and, guess what, Paul has received the most donations of any Presidential candidate from members of the military.

The total from military donated to Paul is $36,739.79.  Why?   The campaign suggests this:

“I think that our fighting men and women want to protect America, defend our Constitution and defend our borders. I think they’re sick and tired of being sent overseas on these police actions and getting caught in the middle of these civil wars, and want someone like Ron Paul speaking sense. They signed up to defend our country, not police the world, and I think they’re hungry for leaders who do that.”

Paul’s tormentor at the Ames debate, former PA Senator Rick Santorum has only raised $250 from the military!  That’s TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS!

The libertarian hero is now in third place ahead of MN Rep. Michele Bachmann!  Paul has 13%  He can beat the President – the poll shows President Obama with a two point lead.

An earlier Rasmussen poll had Paul running only two percentage points behind President Obama. The President scored 47% to Dr. Paul’s 45%
