I went to the final “debate” between the gubernatorial candidates and this time Libertarian Robert Sarvis was invited.  It’s amazing how the presence of Sarvis made the other two behave themselves.  But Sarvis also presented ideas and said potentially unpopular things.  If it were a prize fight, it’d have to have been called early due to mercy for his opponents.

Sarvis actually said it:  Education is costly not because of the students or the teachers but rather too many high paid administrators.  How is it when we have such a high per pupil spending rate when the teachers are not paid well (McAuliffe said we were 50th in teacher pay – not sure I agree with that and I have not verified it) I wonder if the administrators get all the money?  He also said he had a educational plan.

The Libertarian also said he’d abolish racial set-asides in state procurement but wants to have anonymous bidding system to ensure the same people don’t get the same contracts all the time.

The Republican hopeful, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli actually agreed with Robert about the so-called “gun show” loophole.  (Sarvis also said that another cause of gun violence is the drug war and followed up with that with a eloquent plea for decriminalization to produce fewer felons.)

Sarvis also suggested he’d be an independent voice in state government – taking all the good ideas from the leaders in both parties.  He urged Virginians to cast a vote you will be proud:  A vote for the Libertarian.  His delivery was much better than the last time I saw him at the Crusade for Voters.

After the debate he was greeted by many admirers at the front.  I am glad that listeners on four radio stations in the Commonwealth and a live stream from channel 8 was visible.  The LIbertarian can win and his election will open up the politics of the Commonwealth.  Remember the 44 House districts with no opponent when you vote and vote Sarvis November 5.

UPDATE:  HERE it is!

Yes, almost two years ago, when I showed Del. Peace the salaries of Administrators and Professors at State sponsored colleges, his reply was something to the effect that he was in the wrong line of work. He also commented on the fact that the information was available for all to see. Go to this link to see how much they all make. RIPOFF! Kick them all out! I also send Sen. Norment an e mail, not interested in changing it.

The problem is double digit increases in tuition , because they can. Same as healthcare. They have turned higher education into an entitlement. NO CHANGE WILL COME UNTIL CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM! Forget about it.

Rigged districts and gerrymandering. Not going to change no matter who is governor. Repent, accept Biblical principles! Repent!

Hey Sandy, is there a link to audio/video of the forum in its entirety?

Thanks Tom for rightly pointing this out to your readers!

I will be the first one to admit that I have come up short, we all have except for one. Jesus The Christ.

Please do not let me bait you! Do not trust anyone with your Salvation. Read and study the Holy Bible and let the Holy Spirit lead you. Accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior,

Once again, Tom, refuses to use any reference to back up what he says. I do on occasion turn to Scripture, and use a Bible verse for instruction. I would advise Tom to start doing the same.

    Again, thanks Tom
