George Monbiot writes a encouraging article for the Guardian (UK) on the crashing and burning of the global warming “crisis”.

He does not mean to be encouraging; rather Monbiot laments the fact that nothing will get accomplished other than diplomats might not be able to sleep through the next “climate change” convention in Cancun.  The writer adds more bad news for globalists:

Nine years after the world trade negotiations moved to Mexico after failing in Qatar, they remain in diplomatic limbo.

He continues, unaware that he is thrilling the heart of a patriotic American blogger in Hanover, Virginia:

In 2012 the only global deal for limiting greenhouse gas emissions – the Kyoto protocol – expires. There is no realistic prospect that it will be replaced before it elapses: the existing treaty took five years to negotiate and a further eight years to come into force. In terms of real hopes for global action on climate change, we are now far behind where we were in 1997, or even 1992. It’s not just that we have lost 18 precious years. Throughout the age of good intentions and grand announcements we spiralled backwards.

I am sleeping better already!

If Congress couldn’t pass a climate bill so feeble that it consisted of little but loopholes while Barack Obama was president and the Democrats had a majority in both houses, where does hope lie for action in other circumstances?

Monbiot cites the fact that 47 out of 48 GOP candidates for US Senate are against global warming (more good news!) and the one exception is Rep. Mike Castle, recently defeated in Delaware!  This produced as Monbiot eloquently put it:  A “full house of science deniers”; we do not deny science – we rather understand that the science is in dispute.  I am not going to support a world government program that will destroy free markets and liberty on behalf of unproven science.

Monbiot is upset that now both the market and the political forces have failed.  He comes just short of suggesting world government to force people to act.  That is what many “climate change” advocates favor all along.

Let’s enjoy the moment but be vigilant; the globalists are always seeking liberty and sovereignty to devour.  But stand firm and shed light (from an incandescent light bulb!) on the globalist agenda wherever you go.  Check and see if your city or county is a member of ICLEI and act accordingly.
