I spoke to a reporter named Corey Hutchins who writes for the Columbia Journalism Review about the press coverage of the primary race between Dave Brat and Eric Cantor and also about the things happening in the Conservative movement in Virginia in general. And about the complete lack of coverage or understanding by the mainstream media.
Hutchins spoke to several people for the article including Rachel Blum of Georgetown University.
Blum had a quote that I really loved. It perfectly sums up the feeling on the ground with the Conservatives. And it nails my thoughts precisely.
When you pinpoint that the Republican Party is just as corrupt as any other political party, it’s blinding… I think politically, if a conservative resurgence is to take hold in this country, it will only come after a very bloody fight with the Republican Party. I advocated that we put independents into this election to knock out these Republican RINOs—if we put Democrats in I’m OK with that—I mean, Eric Cantor and Rob Whitman—they’re Republicans in name only.

And hopefully the press will start paying attention. But I wouldn’t count onit!
