There is so much good news for liberty in Europe that I cannot keep up with it!  Now there’s more victorious news from Germany:  the euroskeptic AfD (Alternative for Germany) got nearly TEN percent in the state election of Saxony, a German state in the former East Germany, Deutsche Welle reports:

The eurosceptic Alternative for Germany party (AfD) won 10 percent of the vote. The AfD, with lead candidate Frauke Petry (pictured top), has capitalized on voter concerns about asylum seekers in its campaign. The party only narrowly failed to enter the national parliament and the state assembly in Hesse last year. It did, however, manage to garner seven seats in the European Parliament at elections in May.

Although Chancellor Merkel’s party got the most votes, it will have some trouble because the mildly libertarian Free Democrats (FDP) did not get enough votes to get seats in the state parliament.

But like UKIP in the UK, the AfD may have wiped the radical right (The NDP – National Democrats – think BNP) out of the Lower Saxony assembly:

The right-wing, populist party drew voters away from the extreme-right National Democratic Party (NPD), whose re-entry into the state parliament is still unclear.

The NDP is almost at 5%, what is needed for seats in the parliament.

AfD is not calling for Germany to withdraw from the EU but does call to restore the Deutsche Mark.  They believe the euro burdens the German taxpayer to bail out the poorer nations of the EU like Greece.  They also want more say in European decisions by the German people.  Finally, they are very socially conservative.

UPDATE and CORRECTION:  It is not LOWER Saxony but simply Saxony.  I also can report based on an unofficial report here from Wikipedia that the extreme right NDP is OUT in Saxony.  Again a legitimate pro-liberty and sovereignty party can drive out the extremists from politics (and take their votes too!) and stand for the right.  UKIP is pretty much done that for the UK.

SECOND CORRECTION:  I understand the AfD does not call openly for the return of the Mark but does say Germany and other EU nations should have the right to have their own currency or an alternative one.  I apologize for the error.

Now if conservatives can create a party and leave people like those slimy GOP establishment turds at Bearing Drift to pound salt all alone in Virginia! When reading that sorry website, it is obvious that if they represent the Republican Party, there is no need to have a Democrat party… Warner and those guys are identical crony capitalist, Open Border, Big Government proponents…
