Virginia Republicans Traded Control of State Senate for Tax Hike by Scrapping Redistricting Plans

Do you remember the big tax hike the Republicans pushed through last year? $6 Billion dollars of our money went to transportation – about 60% – and the rest to growing government.

But part of the deal to get Democrats to vote for the tax hike (which shows how astute Republicans really are – who ever heard of a Democrat needing concessions to raise taxes???) the Republicans agreed to scrap plans to fix the state senate district lines that the Democrats had drawn after the last census. It is not uncommon to see the party in power draw lines favorable to themselves, but the Democrats went beyond partisan lines all the way to outright stupidity to preserve their own seats.

So now Republicans are whining that they have lost the Senate majority because they couldn’t get Republicans elected to the 2 seats vacated by Democrats moving from the Senate to Lt. Governor and Attorney General.

So it seems that taxpayers aren’t the only ones being bitten by the tax hike as Democrats sent the Republicans to the back of the bus on committees.

Please spare us the tears. We told you the tax bill was a bad idea. Now we will see some really bad ideas as the new majority in the Va. Senate pull out every extremist thought in their collective little brains.

    Yes to the post!

Is a Conservative now about to enter the race in the 10th? Are his initials BM?

Is Mrs. Barbara “Tax and Spend “Comstock doomed because she accepted a Pat Mullins endorsement? Going down in defeat just like Cuccinelli, Jackson, and Obienshame? And the. Romney “rejection”? In fact like just about all his Candidates since Nov. 2012??

Is a Pat Mullins endorsement now “Radioactive”?

Don’t let her forget HB1930? Don ‘t let her take her tax and spend dreams to Washington!

Now is the time to even the score! HB1930!

Nothing is more conservative than a republican wanting to get their majority back. And nothing is more liberal than a republican WITH a majority.
