What Will The Health Care Reform Bill Look Like After Conference Committee?

The Bill now laughingly called Health Care Reform will, no doubt, pass the Senate. The Democrats have the votes to cut off a possible filibuster by Republicans, so it is a done deal.

Traitors Webb and Warner feel that their next elections are far enough in the future that they are immune from voter wrath. They are counting on our forgetful nature to block out the horrors of a massive takeover of the country’s health care industry by the government.

To be sure, the bill before the Senate and the House bill passed by the lunatic fringe of the Democratic Party do not in any way meet the goals and promises of Candidate Obama. They do not reform health care. They will not reduce the premiums we pay. They will not lower the cost of a single medical procedure, nor do they curb the out of control law suits or the practice of defensive medicine.

What they will do is force insurance companies to add people with aids and cancer and other diseases to the pool. While this seems an admirable mandate, to eliminate the pre-existing clauses in insurance policies, it will cause a massive recalculation of premiums to cover these individuals. We will all see an increase in our payments.

The bills will also eliminate the “lifetime maximum” an insurance company will pay out on a single policy. This will also be added to the recalculation of premiums. Again, causing an increase in what we all pay.

The deals already made provide money to individual states to buy the votes of the Senators. Most of these “bribes” will be paid for with lower Federal payments to states, forcing the states to pony up more money. Most states have massive budget shortfalls already and this bill will cause your state taxes and local taxes to rise as states scramble to make up for the lower Federal support – essentially an unfunded mandate.

So what deals will be made to hammer out the differences between the House and Senate versions? How mush more pain will Senators Webb and Warner allow to be passed on to Virginians? How much will the demands of Congressmen like the Socialist Bobby Scott, who already believes our tax money should flow freely to groups like Acorn, cost Virginians?

As Seniors have their prescription drug plans stripped away, as the young who are uninsured by choice see fines or mandatory coverage thrust upon them and as we all see our State and Local taxes rise to pay for these bribes, and all the while our health insurance premiums continue to rise – at a higher rate – will anyone except the Socialists be happy with what our elected officials in Washington have done to us?

The pain that the Democrats are forcing upon the American public is growing proportionately with the national debt. While Republicans share some of the responsibility for the debt, this administration has piled on more debt in a year than all prior administrations combined.

And China says the world can no longer afford to buy our bonds.

Which means we will be forced to live within our means. And while that is likely a good thing, the pain yet to come will be immense.
