McDonnell Budget Cuts Have Democrats Squealing Like Stuck Pigs

So it appears in the liberal camps Armageddon has arrived. Budget cuts hit schools! Horrors!

It looks to me like Governor McDonnell trimming those areas of the budget that have increased massively under the past 2 Democratic Administrations. I, too, would be shocked and screaming about budget cuts in K-12 if there had been any improvement in the results we have seen for our money. About the only accomplishment so far has been making standardized testing easier to pass. The kids aren’t getting smarter, the measurements have been lowered.

So, if we have seen no increase in the quality of education from massive spending and Obama like increases in school budgets, there is no fear of decline with a reduction in budget spending.

And the cries that children will starve because mean old McDonnell is cutting free breakfasts for needy children, you may want to give Michelle Obama a call on that one. She says our kids are, like hers, a bunch of porkers.

You have enjoyed the high life with fat budget increases with nothing to show for it except a bloated administrative bureaucracy. Perhaps School Superintendents with salaries approaching a quarter of a million dollars would be a good place to start trimming some of the fat.

Times are hard. Revenues are down. Much of the money being cut should not have been given to you in the first place.

  1. Just enjoy the entertainment. It’s approaching a reality show pitch!

It’s reaching abysmal levels for school cuts. Chesterfield County was already anticipated to make 46 Million Dollars worth of budget cuts, and now McDonnell’s round of cuts add 16 Million Dollars to the deficit. Schools aren’t just academic centers, I’m sure you know that Tom. Transportation, Clubs, Sports, and Teachers are being tossed out the window. Now isn’t the time to exacerbate the problem with heavy cuts on Public Education.

Not all funding to Public Schools is meant to improve Test Scores, that’s just the failure on the part of the State Government’s logic. Yes, I’m sure striping counties of Extracurricular doesn’t make test scores go down, because that’s obviously the bottom line as far as the Legislature is concerned.

There are those that say, “Times are tough, we need to make cuts”, but that just isn’t so. Times are tough, especially for local and state Governments, which is precisely why we CAN’T afford to make the cuts that are detrimental to long term growth. I have been an opponent of taxation in the past, but many would rather pay increased taxes than be faced with some of these community budget cuts.

Really? Who are they? Generally, what I’ve noticed is that dems are most generous with other people’s money….but hardly with their’s. Who are these people?
