Curling is that great sport with rocks and brooms. It’s “sweeping” (pun intended) across the nation. The South is the most significant part of the nation not in a curling region. There is no curling club in all of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Several persons (including your blogger) are looking into starting one here in Richmond. It’s a brainy sport for all ages and genders. It’s a family sport, too. Finally, maybe a Virginian might lead his or her team to a future Olympic games and win the gold medal! (Without government bailouts and grants!)

I love to watch the sport and would like to play. My home is in Chantilly, Virginia.
We had hoped that we would be able to provide a curling experience for my soon-to-retire wife and teacher of 42 years. After hearing that there was actually a facility close by in Charlottesville, we were optimistic, only to be discouraged by the eventual destruction of the entire facility. We’re still looking! ANYWHERE in Virginia where she can experience the basics and learn the intricacies of a sport she could be fond of would be ideal. We’re looking for a possible date for a weekend in June. We live in Harrisonburg, Va. Your help would be appreciated!
